Remittance Specialist - PRISM (IRR)

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Client Services Manager, the candidate selected performs detailed, routine clerical work involving data entry, research, analysis, and reconciliation.

Major Job Responsibilities

  1. Processes lockbox and cash receipts for various clients and financial institutions by: 
    • Uploads daily bank transmissions to check register
    • Performs data entry of daily ACH and wire payments 
    • Monitors and processes PRISM in-box for non bank deposits forwarded by clients
    • Balances all cash receipts to client or bank totals to ensure entry of all deposits for the week
  2. Researches payment remittance detail for validity by client
    • Identifies missing pages or illegible pages
    • Determines if all stores belong to the specific chain
    • Validates all pertinent information is included for data entry 
  3. Processes/prepares payor remittance documentation to be sent to Mexico processing facility:  
    • Maintains log of shipments to Mexico
    • Sorts cash receipts listings and matches to the original payor remittance documentation
    • Sends reports to appropriate personnel
    • Contacts financial institutions to track potential missing packages
  4. Maintains appropriate files and records. 
    • Enters new payors and customer controls in the PRISM system
    • Tracks all incoming Mexico packages to identify missing packages
  5. Performs other tasks as assigned
    • Posting daily deposits as needed
    • Assisting others with cash applications and tagging in Spectrum

Qualifications

  • Ability to associate and sort documents for delivery to appropriate personnel
  • Ability to operate various office machines including copier, fax, calculator
  • Ability to utilize computer equipment
  • Ability to accurately perform alpha/numeric data entry
  • Ability to perform detailed work with numerical data rapidly and accurately
  • Ability to prepare routine and procedural financial reports and records
  • Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner to outside agencies and clients
  • Ability to provide cross-training to coworkers
  • Ability to analyze transactions, detect and avoid errors
  • Ability to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions
  • Ability to maintain files and records
  • Ability to organize tasks and time to ensure timely completion of all projects
  • Ability to adhere to prescribed routines and practices
  • Ability to proceed independently and carry out assignments to completion with minimal instructions
  • Ability to analyze documentation to determine appropriate course of action
  • Demonstrated typing ability
  • Knowledge of use of PC and printers
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures

EDUCATION:

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school; 
  • AND two to three year's related work experience in an office environment 
  • OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
