Major Job Responsibilities

  1. Function as a technical member of the Data Movement group:
    •  Work under the direction of the Data Movement Manager on monitoring related issues.
    • Day-to-day monitoring of Data Movement and Process Scheduling infrastructure and attached servers and systems.
    • Work with internal systems support teams to perform systems performance testing and validation of results as needed.
    • Define and implement a standardized approach for performance or failure notifications.
    • On Call Support – after hours / weekends / holidays
    • Weekly Status reporting
    • Assist with developing documentation for all systems/applications supported
    • Disaster Recovery support
  2. Function to supplement resources within the Datacenter group:
    • Assist with supporting the backup environment (CommVault, DataDomain, LiteSpeed, Ranger, etc.) / back up to the primary administrator

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university OR 6+ years of systems infrastructure / network related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with and certification on the Windows Platform.
  • Ability to analyze events and make recommendations for improvement and develop plans of action.
  • Knowledge of Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention concepts, terminology, and configurations a plus
  • Knowledge and experience of SNMP and IP attached devices
  • Ability to implement additional or third-party vendor products  
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks requiring extensive follow-up and timely completion of all projects
  • Experience with Sterling Software GIS, Microsoft BizTalk, and CommVault Backup & Recovery a definite plus.
